Update! Since her three kittens were adopted, Mollie has been living in a wonderful foster home that has given her a chance to relax and blossom. Here's what her foster mommy tells us about her: "Once she gets to know you, you'll realize that you never knew what love really was. She takes every chance to be with you, purring and rubbing against you. When you come home, she'll run to greet you and meow her elated hellos. She's also extremely gentle, taking great care never to hurt people. (There have been multiple times when I was playing with her that my hand -- I got it in the way -- could have ended up scratched and bleeding, but Mollie always withdrew her claws...) And her missing eye isn't very noticeable... the way she acts, you couldn't tell that she was missing an eye. She's also extremely easy to take care of and very meticulous about her own cleanliness. All in all, Mollie is a great cat, for both first time and veteran cat owners. It seems like she does not really need a cat friend -- [she's the only cat right now in her foster home] but she could get used to one I think."
Her history: Mollie was found desperately trying to raise her little family on the mean streets. Thank goodness someone came along to take her, with her three kittens, off the street. But, the family had another problem to face: The shelter where they landed was filling fast. Bay Area Cat Rescue took them all out of that situation and Mollie finished raising her kittens in relative comfort at the Petsmart adoption center in Mountain View, California! Mollie is a very sweet, tolerant cat who peers curiously at you with her one good eye. [Note, the eye doctor said she had a genetic defect where the one affected eye never completely develops.] To know her is to love her, but you have to meet her first. Don't overlook this deserving young cat. If you are interested in meeting Mollie, please fill out an application online.
