Bello was rescued from Shoreline Park, where a kind person found him abandoned, skinny, with a terrible eye infection. He brought Bello to the emergency vet, where the poor kitten had his first seizure. Bello spent several days in the vet hospital ICU where he received fluids, antibiotics, and round the clock care. He is also on anti-seizure medication to help control his seizures. There are many possible causes for the seizures, including infection or trauma, but we aren't sure yet what is causing Bello's seizures. He continues to receive regular vet care but is now in a foster home where he is under very close watch so that he can get the proper care if he does have another seizure.
Dec 2006 Update: Bello has now been seizure free for a month and is doing well. He loves to play and has no idea he is sick. He continues to receive daily phenobarbitol to control his seizures.
